How attendees unregister
Updated August 26, 2026
People change plans. MojoSignUp lets a registrant leave a spot without emailing the organizer and without creating an account.
The unregister link
After someone registers they get a confirmation email with an unregister link. That link includes a one-time token: /unregister/{token}. Opening it loads the event title, date, location, and the name on the registration, then asks for confirmation.
Confirming removes that entry and frees the capacity. The same token cannot be reused. If the link is invalid or already used, the page says so and does not change the roster.
What attendees should know
- They do not need to sign in.
- They should use the link from their own confirmation email, not a forwarded copy meant for someone else.
- Removing themselves does not delete their MojoSignUp account if they have one. It only drops that registration.
What organizers can do
Organizers can remove entries from the sign-up dashboard when someone emails “please take me off the list” and has lost the confirmation. That is the same end state as the token flow: the spot opens again.
There is no automatic reminder to the next person on a waitlist, because there is no waitlist. If a popular shift opens up, the next visitor who loads the public page can take it. See Capacity limits.
What does not happen
Unregistering does not cancel a payment unless you are using a payments feature and have confirmed that flow separately. It does not notify every other registrant. It does not hide the event. It only removes one name.
Signed-in users can also review their own registrations under My Registrations after they log in. That list is for people who created an account. Many attendees never will, which is why the email token exists.
